Covering an area of 1,834 square kilometers, Linqu county is
situated in the southwest of Weifang City¡ªcentral part of Shandong
peninsula. With population of 850,000 for now, there are 8 towns, 2
sub-districts and 1 provincial economic development zone, which are
composed by 937 villages, under jurisdiction of this county.
Linqu, with an ancient name of Pianyi, was originally
established during the West Han Dynasty as early as 2,000 years ago.
So it has very long history and holds rich culture. Today, it owns
such titles as Home of Calligraphy, Home of Folk-Play, and the
County of National Culture Model, etc.
Linqu
holds abundant tourism and ornamental stone resources. Its scenic
sites, such as the National Forest Park of Mt. Yishan, the National
Geological Park of Shanwang Fossil, Old Dragon Spring, Shimenfang
Red Leaves, Donzhen Stele-Forest and The Great-wall of Qi Kingdom,
are wellknown both home and abroad. It has been entitled as the Best
Eco-tourism County of China, the National Ecological Demonstration
Zone and the Home of Ornamental Stomes of China.
