Linqu has both long history and rich historical relics. It is
an important county of the 1,000-Li Folk Custom Tour Line of
Shandong Province. Main scenic sites of the county include: Shanwang
Fossil Park, National Forest Park of Mt. Yishan, Old Dragon Spring,
Red Leaves of Shimenfang, Mount Songshan, the Black Pine Forest, the
God-Ox Valley, the Stele Forest of Dongzhen Temple, and the Cuifen
Murals of North Qi Kindom, etc. Mt. Yishan, listed as No. 1 of the
Five Great Mountains of China, is also a National Forest Park, a
Provincial Scenic Resort as well as a State AAAA Tourism Site.
Forest coverage rate of the mount is 98.6%. And there are over 80
natural scenic sights distributed in this area, including Baizhangya
Waterfall, Lion Peak, Waitou Peak and so on. Old Dragon Spring,
listed as one of the 72 famous springs of China, is a State AAA
scenic site. And it is also called ¡°the South of North China¡±
because of its deep and clear water. Embraced in green mountains,
the picturesque Shimenfang, also a State AAA tourism site, boasts
sheer cliffs. When Double-Nine Festival comes, red leaves all over
the mountain will shine under the sunglow, bringing a magnificent
sight. Further more, there exists more than 90 figures carved on the
cliffs during Tang Dynasty, which was listed for provincial
protection. And Shanwang fossils, formed 20 million years ago, are
vividly named the ¡°Ten-thousand Books¡±. This park has been appionted
to be a National Geological Park.
